Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company machine shop by Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge in 1900, Dodge have become one of the best known automotive brands in the world, despite their primary audience being the American market. Originally a supplier to manufacturers in the Detroit area, including Ford, Dodge started building vehicles of their own in 1914.
Now a division of fellow American company Chrysler, and having been so since 1928, Dodge are renowned for their trucks and muscle car models such as the Viper, Charger, Ram and Challenger.
In 2011, Dodge was separated from its model sub-brands Ram and Viper, with the latter becoming a product of Street & Racing Technology (SRT), one of Chrysler’s sports and performance divisions, and the former becoming a marque of its own.
The Dodge Viper
The Dodge Viper is one of the company’s most famous models, having been produced between 1991 and 2017. The two seater supercar saw five different generations over the years, with each one built with an 8 litre V10 engine. The first Viper built had a power output of 400bhp, with the final generation providing 645bhp, making it one of the most powerful cars ever to grace the streets.
Ultimately, very few Vipers were sold in the UK, but if you look long enough you might be able to find a second hand one if you’re in the market for an exceptional used super car. Of course, if you do end up buying one, you might want to assign a personalised registration and have new Dodge number plates made up! If this is the case, then we can help!
What size are Dodge number plates?
All Dodge vehicles sold in the UK have to display standard size plates measuring 520mm x 111mm as a minimum.
If your Dodge is an import, then one of our Import sizes may fit the vehicle also, but be sure to measure up to ensure that you order the right size!
It may also be possible to design a bespoke Dodge license plate. All we’ll need is the dimensions for the space you wish to fill! If this appeals to you, then get in touch with us and one of our team will be happy to help.
